Dispensaries are not yet open in South Dakota. It will likely take some time before either medical or recreational dispensaries are open for sales. The State Department of Revenue must first establish regulations before license applications can even be accepted. Under the rules of Constitutional Amendment A, the state has until April 1 of 2022 to set rules and regulations for its cannabis market.
This timeline is common for most states starting up new cannabis markets, so expect it to be a bit of a wait until cannabis is available for purchase. We will update this space as information on the issuing of licenses is released.
